The earth has actually shifted a lot in the last couple of years. Currently our apartment bedroom is what used to be my bedroom as a teen. When I was a teen (only 6 years ago) the sun used to coming streaming into my window every morning. Now it doesn't come in at all but is a good 15 to 20 feet away from my window now in the mornings.

We've been seeing some slow changes in the last couple years, and I don't believe it's global warming either. The fall of 2009 was a month longer then usual. It usually snows here in central AK by mid Sept. Fall of 2009 and 2010 it didn't snow until mid/late Oct. Last spring we were able to plant a month earlier then normal. We didn't, but we could have. I'm hoping it's that was this year also.

I think I can see the effects more then most because I'm so far north. I wonder how much this recent shift will effect us? My brother did some studying and he thinks that the climate up here in AK will end up quite a bit warmer and we will see warming up here and melting of glaciers.

Uh, sorry, but nope. I am sure it seems that way. But North America, and the globe, have NOT shifted anything like to that amount.

Likeliest explanation: different time of sun rising, due to taller trees or different buildings. Sun rises later, sun misses where it would have hit had it risen a little bit earlier.

Sorry,

Pat

Yes last spring was an extraordinary spring for us Northerners...I loved it! It was the very first real sign I ever saw that global warming might not be a hoax (sarcasm)
But we DO get years like that...few and far between though LOL!
The earth does change, but not that dramatically:) Great posts Pat!

Well there is tons of scientific data showing that global warming is a fact. Now the jury is still out on the actual causes. Most scientist say it is caused or at least influenced by man. One of those things that's hard to prove either way. I would like to think it's a hoax but the evidence shows otherwise. If the weather patterns continue to change the way they have been and the glaciers which have been around for eons continue melting away it might indicate something. Of course Gore may have been able to convince every other nation with a science community to go along with his charade. I can think of other charades that have been going on for much longer and involving a lot more people. So it could be a hoax I guess.

Well the last place you are going to get any truths from is the media... But there are people here from all over. What do you REALLY see? I mean really. Any HUGE differences in your local weather? Cause there sure aren't in mine

Well what would you actually see? They're talking a 1 degree increase in the temperature of the ocean. One or two degrees in average ambient temperature. The glaciers are melting though. The ocean is rising. All this is happening very slowly. It may just be a cycle, but it is happening regardless of the cause.
