So...this is how the journey went.....
9am, I left the house...went to the bank, stopped in at the drugstore for my meds..Finished by 9:15....then waited on Angela. And waited....and waited....Burger king is next door...thankfully, because I had to take care of business. LOL So I rushed over there,in and out, like a flash. Didnt want to miss Angela, and make her waite on me...I get back to my truck, and I waited...9:45....she pulls in. FINALLY!Then, she parks. So I said...I have the directions...lets get going, its 1 1/2 hr drive. Ohhh no, she wants me to go over the directions with her, and explain them to her...not once....not twice, but THREE times!!! UGH! Lets get going already. Finally..10 am, we are on the road. Whew! Finally! Its 11:30 when we finally pull in the shelter. I tell her to waite in the van, I will go take care of the particulars. So, They call the lady up front...I tell her I am there for the goats and she says GREAT!!!!! LOL They dont get many farm animals in there. We started to walk out and she stops..and says...do you know how to handle these creatures?? I just gave her " the look" and said, yes, I know how to handle them, I have collars and leashes. So we start walking again, her stopping every once in a while to look at a dog, or whatever...so, finally we get to the barn. There they are...a 3 of them running up to the fence wanting fed, or scratches. So, I get the leashes and collars..we get in the gate...and this woman said.you all go ahead...I dont know how to handle them. :/ So, Angela and I get the collars and leashes on, they are VERY tame...and while we are doing this the woman said...we are thinking the white one is the momma, and the other 2 are her babies. I looked, I didnt see bags...Hmmmmmm....ok, lets get them loaded. So, after 20 minutes of fighting goats to get them in the van, and loaded..I settle down in the back with them to keep them calm.
My job was easy! LOL We get back on the road...and IT happened...they all stand up, and start peeing as if it was planned....OH NO!! 3 goats, STANDING there peeing...NOT squating...STANDING...and its NOT coming from the back!!!! I cant believe it...
After an hr and a half of riding in the back of a minivan with 3 peeing goats...we get home and unload them..and guess what!?? 3 Whethers!!! NO NO NO!! This CAN'T be happening!! Yup, its official....3 whethers! So I Immediately call the rescue group, and let them know they will have to find a permanent home for the 3 BOYS! LOL
She said it wasnt a problem...and that they would start looking immediately.
On the PLUS side.....I am waiting for them to call me back tomorrow morning...there was a PAIR of Pygmy goats in there as well. I KNOW the male was not a wether...LOL and they were no bigger than cocker spaniels! I called the rescue, and told her about them, she said they can be released tomorrow. I think she heard me squeal, she laughed and said...do you want them?? Oh YES!! I will take them! She said..if the owner doesnt come to get them by closeing tonight...then I can go get them tomorrow! WOOHOO!! So, altho I didnt get my Does...I MIGHT be getting a pair of pygmys!
Oh the smell! I just know I will never get that smell out of my nostrils! LOL The white male is soooooooo sweet! He loves to give kisses...and lays on my leg looking up wanting scratches! I just can't keep 3 boys! Im so sad...I was sure looking forward to some fresh milk!
Justusnak that is the funniest story I have heard all day!!! Whethers!! and they thought they were girls! I hope you get the pygmys though,... Those guys are cute though,....
Oh, I couldn't eat them. They are such loveable babies! I am hopeing to find them aq home in a good petting zoo. They are so sweet.....
Here they are all settled in.
I am pretty upset....that they either lied, or really didnt know. I spent 3 hrs there and back getting them...and to find out they are just eaters. :/ Oh well. They are in a better place that they were...and THATS what really counts. Now, to find them all good homes.
