With the pellets, if they knock them into the pine shavings, they will peck em up! I have saved a LOT switching to pellets, and the banty chickens can eat it with no problem.

So yesterday was not very SS around here. We had to go to my step dads around 2:30 to replace the frame to his bed....then DH fixed the downspout that was laying sideways, and off to my grand daughters 2nd birthday party at 5. UGH! When we moved the mattress and box springs....we were greeted with literally 2 inches of dust, on several pairs of my late mothers shoes, and books. I was able to gather them all up and into a bag. The books cleaned up well and will be added to my library. Several by Beverly Lewis, all Amish related reading. I just love her books. The shoes...well....several pairs of them I will clean up later today, and since mom and I had the same size feet, I will keep them to wear! score! While cleaning out the corner of the room, I found their camcorder. It is an RCA Digital, one they have had for several years...but rarely used. So, I asked, and received the camcorder. Once I got home I found an old tape inside, that was stretched. I was able to get it wound back up, and played it, I am so glad it worked!! There is footage of my mother, in S C at my brothers funeral. He was a Sheriff in Craven County, South Carolina, and was killed on duty. Tragic....but I have this footage now, and will have it transferred to a CD.
Today will not be so much SS either. My neighbors mom needs a ride into town later, for a Doctors appointment. I agreed to take her. I can get a little running around done while she is there...so...yeah.
I have been reading on "how to train a mini Donkey" First thing is to be in the pen with them, and walk around and ignore them. Make him come to me. Do you know how hard it is for me to be in there AND IGNORE HIM!?? He is so darned cute, and I want to just grab him up and squeeeeeeeeeze! So, I tried that yesterday, and guess what? He started following me around!!! I will work with that more today, and a few times every day, until he is sure I will not hurt him, and we can become friends. Friends first, training later. I need to make a pot of Chicken and noodles for dinner....and do a few loads of laundry, before I have to leave...so, have a great day all!

Hope you had a good day today!
Thanks BB, I had another busy day...but it is ending well. Had to take the neighbors mom into town, and had some running to do...made a pot of chicken and noodles for supper, more animal chores...and worked in the pasture with Freedom. He was following me all over the pasture. :love Just finished the chores...and need to clean the kitchen, get a fire going, throw in some laundry, and vacuum the family room. Tomorrow evening, I am going to go get a puppy....I think...well, I am definitely going to go look. A local rescue found 6 of them dumped on the road. They look to be shepherd mix. Skin and bones....poor babies. They think they are about 4 months old...they are wormed, and will have shots before I get one. I do NOT want to bring any illness home to my other dogs. IF I decide to keep one, they will pay for the rest of the shots, and for neuter. Can't beat that!! So, I need to go finish up, and try to relax a bit before I drop into bed. :)

So, here we are, January 11th, and it is raining to beat the band. YUK! And the pastures were just starting to dry out a little. Figures! Weatherman say's it will rain ALL DAY! DOUBLE YUK!! Looks like I will have some inside time today...just as well. I have a load of stuff in the garage from my mothers house, I need to get through. A LOT of it will get donated to St. Vincents DePauls.
So, yesterday I went to look at a puppy.... :D A Local rescue contacted me....they found 6 pups, dumped in town. I just despise some people!! :somad These pups have mites, and were FULL of worms. So, I went to look. She asked if we might could foster one, or more. :D There are 2 males...German Shepherd mix....with HOUND! The first one they brought out, I fell in LOVE with...stocky, thick legs, BIG feet, Shepherd markings....however he was very shy, and would NOT warm up to me. :( Then they brought out another male...he is lanky, long legged, and RED! Big floppy ears. He too was shy at first, then as I petted him and talked to him...he relaxed....I asked him if he wanted to come live on my farm, and he gave me a big wet kiss! :love I asked him if he wanted to go for a ride in the truck, another big wet kiss. OK, so I think, we will end up with the red one. LOL
In this picture...he looks more of a tan color...I can get better pics later. I MIGHT get both of the boys...even if I just foster one, and keep one.
Here is the one I will be getting, as soon as he gets a clean bill of health.

Of course I have not picked a name yet...I don't know his personality....but have been throwing around a few names....
1) T bone
2) Thaddeus
3) Magnum
4) Gunner
5) Sebastian

*sigh* I have no idea. LOL I will let HIM pick the name...I will bring home both, and see which one warms up fastest. I REALLY wanted the other one...maybe once he is here, he will warm up..I am sure he is scared...and being sick...just doesn't want to mess with humans right now. Poor pups....I can see it now, I will have 2 new BIG dogs in the family. LOL
