I don't use rainwater for our family's drinking water but I do collect as much as I can and use it for other things for the same reason you stated - to reduce dependence on city water. I collect it for use in watering both the garden and the animals. Every little bit helps, right. Of course lately its been kind of hard to collect much. Wish we'd GET some rain.

Yep i have been useing water i have collecetd for my birds. We just got about two inches of heavy rain here.
Well I have a 1500 gallon water tank That I was gonna bury place a pump on use some crabon filters, but thats as far as I have gotten so far.
