Epicurean Goddess
Been a bit since I really posted. Talked to DD, Kel, the other day. She said that her DB and his DGF spent 4th of July with them in East Texas. They could only stay the day because of their work schedules, and a 4 hour each way drive. But Kel said they had a great time, with bbq, homemade cake, ice cream before the neighbor started fireworks.
Kel is thinking that DGS#1 should come spend some time with his maternal grandparents. It seems he has been a bit depressed since the fire last October, and while he has been going to counseling, Kel thinks he is still in a funk. She also said that since the fire he has lost interest in reading, and she is afraid his reading level is going in the wrong direction. Unfortunately with 12-year old DGD and her health issues and DGS#2 reaching the terrible 2's, Kel doesn't seem to have much time for just one on one with DGS#1. I think he might be feeling a bit left out. Dad is almost never home, as he is x-country trucker, so he isn't much help.
DGS#1's team is in baseball playoffs right now, but she thinks an extended vacation might help him a bit. So perhaps this autumn we will have him come visit for a few months. He will be 9 in December; I am trying to remember what 9 year old boys are like... and what they like to read.

WE ARE HAVING COMPANY THIS WEEK-END AND ALL NEXT WEEK!!
Our DS, Jon, and his DGF, Erin, called to say they are driving up from Austin this week-end and will be with us next week!
