What a great story! Hope he's just slowing down a little. That's what we're hoping for our Aussie, Jack, too. He's another rescue but we don't know his whole story. He ended up in a kill shelter in Ohio right at the same time I was looking for a dog to do agility with. We were matched up and he came north through the Ausie underground railroad. Turned out he was nearly blind so agility was out but he's been great otherwise. Much more of a golden retriever than an Aussie!

Titan sounds like a wonderful dog...and you sound like you have given him a wonderful family! Large dogs do age quicker than smaller dogs...but they seem to do so with so much dignity...
Our Cookie is over 11 now, and is slowing down also...I know what you mean, you can never be sure if today it's age slowing them down, or if it's something to be more concerned about....we dont want our friends to suffer...they love us back so unconditionally -
Keep up the wonderful care you have been giving him, and give him all the love you have for him while he's here! Hopefully he's just feelin the cold in his old bones, like the rest of us cold old birds out here...

I love the way Titan is perched on that ottoman! He is so handsome!
You are so involved in your church community, it sounds wonderful. I enjoy hearing of the fellowship that you share (if you dont mind my peeking in from my non-judgemental/agnostic position).

I wanted to offer my condolences on the loss of the ds's rat. I have had rats in the past, and they are amazingly intelligent creatures! What a great pic!

Oh wow! My grandparents had an Irish Setter who sat on the sofa the same way! He was a huge dog and it was hysterical to watch him inch that hip up slowly till he was on the sofa but still had three feet on the floor!
