Now THAT reminds me of Susie.

She was a 1979 Plymouth Volaire, green with white top, with no grill, dented headlight, and wrecked on the passenger side by my husband's elderly great aunt. Susie had 20 some thousand miles and no one would take her for free (except me) because she was homely.

I drove that car for YEARS and cried when she broke her engine for the last time.

Oh the car was in perfect condition (for a car not used or stored properly for 20 years) when we got it!

The first time dh went to change a tire, the jack went through the rusted under body. He had to place a separate piece of sheet metal (left from a farm project) between the car and the jack to change the tire.

30 over night and frost again!

As of 6:15am, we up to 31. Our high today is supposed to be 45. There is a 20% chance of rain again.

The *S* word is in the forecast beginning Thursday night and through the week-end! :th

I am SO glad I put up window and door quilts already!

DH is off to work this morning and I am still working on getting lunch food items ready for him while away this week-end. If I don't have it ready, he'll just buy the junk at the store - squishy white bread and factory-made imitation oreo cookies. :sick

We have errands to run tonight before our class, so I have to have dinner ready when he gets home.

I am not ready for it either! If we get snow, it will be about 10 days earlier than the first snow last year.

DS emailed me they have mid 70's at night and 90's during the day. Little brat!

It's gonna rain tomorrow.....I can feel it in my bones. I'm like a walking barometer. I hope the snow holds off a little longer up there....I know it's tough to deal with.

Your son can just go jump in a lake! I'm freezing my butt off here! :)

10/15/09 - Thursday

For dinner yesterday we had a fry-up: breakfast sausage links, scrambled eggs and toast. Something yummy, quick and filling. :)

Last night was our fifth session of the Back In The Box study. One more week to go. This has been a very thought provoking study. On the way to class, we dropped off some library books, took a load of household goods to Goodwill, and took a trunkful of recycles to the drop-off center. I can almost walk through the small bedroom to the window.

We are in the 30s and 40s here. We are getting rain and the forecast calls for that to be mixed with snow tonight. We haven't turned on the heat yet, since it is between 50 and 60 in the house. I can only guess it is so warm in here because of all the winterizing I have been doing. :D We are using a space heater to warm up the bathroom in the morning for showers and using the bed warmers to take the chill out of bed before hoping in at night. We are wearing our long-sleeved shirts under sweaters and sweat shirts.

As of 11:00am, we are at 38 with 20 mph winds, and it is raining. Our high today is supposed to be 42, but I am not sure we'll see that today. I have checked 4 weather sources and all say SNOW for tonight.

DH was supposed to be off today, but is working. His new boss was announced yesterday and management realized that the new boss won't be in the rotation...so dh had to do the new boss' old job today, so the new boss could get trained on his new supervisor's position.

I drove dh to work and after dropping him off, went to get the laundry done. Another $15 spent! :( I still need to put the clothes away.

I am having some soup for lunch (some potato-garlic-carrot out of the freezer). I am making mac and cheese for dinner and will probably serve that with broccoli or cauliflower.

Today I am making rice krispie treats and chocolate chip cookies for dh's lunches.

I have to pack up my stuff tomorrow morning - sheets, blankets, pillow, clothes, Bible, and HB&A stuff. I am really looking forward to this retreat. I just wish the weather would be warmer. :D

I best get a move on..
Have a terrific week-end!
