Rest in Peace 1980-2020
I worked for awhile as receptionist at a very posh country club in S.A. During that time I did two courses in guest care and hotel reception. About 90% of the course work was on how to deal with difficult guests. Seriously, it seemed to me some days going on holiday brings out the obnoxious brat in people Working in restaurants were similar, but not as bad thankfully!
I'll never forget the day I served a family of 4, the dad was an A-HOLE. Good grief, he was difficult and so rude. I served their meal and he called me back after a minute, handed me the pepper grinder and insisted I bring him one "that works". I took the grinder off him, took the lid off and handed it back to him without a word. I didn't have trouble from that table for the rest of the evening.
