Reported by Jennifer (the granny) to friends in the neighborhood, via email. Martina is her daughter-in-law, and Esta is her 5-year-old granddaughter who has an infant brother (Louis):

Martina: Esta, watch your brother while I go to the outhouse.

(Thirty seconds later) Esta yells: I'm outside!

Martina: You're supposed to be watching Louis!

Esta: Well, I left him with another person… who is unfortunately just the dog, but he's good with children.

I posted the above a while back. Well, Esta has said something else memorable...

Esta's Dad has been looking after her and her young brother, as Martina (the mom mentioned before) is working as a school teacher these days.

Today, 5-year-old Esta must have been feeling a bit put-out with her dad for some reason. She said to him, "It's time to find me a new dad. Try to find one like you."
