First of all ... of COURSE I am printing the lemon bar recipe!!

Now I just have to gluten free it and see how that goes, but it looks do-able!

(June birthday - LOVES lemon)

Next ...

YOU BUY BROWN SUGAR!!! For shame.

Years ago my Grandma Nettie taught me that brown sugar (not the raw Turbinado sugar) is only white sugar with differing amounts of molasses added. The "yellow" or light brown sugar you mentioned just has less molasses than the dark brown sugar.

Molasses is GOOD for you! It is chock full of minerals, so we should all be eating it anyway. Next time you need brown sugar for a recipe just drizzle in a dollop of good old blackstrap!

OMG... pregnant women should not be allowed to read the recipes section at 12:30am...

I think I have all the ingredients (is powdered sugar the same as icing sugar?) I only have granulated, brown, yellow, and icing sugar.

oh.... I want lemon bars :)
There is such a thing as yellow sugar???
It's just a lighter yellow version of brown sugar... I had a recipe that called for it, so I bought a bag at the bulk store. I can't really tell a difference between that and brown sugar.
Light brown and dark brown sugar....
You girls crack me up :)

When you master this recipe, let me know....I don't dare play with it because I have a weakness for home made treats....especially lemony ones!

Okay, Wifey and I need low carb. I love Lemon! :hit

Oops - gotta get off - I hear thunder and the sky is black. I think hubby's out on one of his bike rides probably 10 miles from home. May have to rescue him. (He's crazy if he thinks I'm getting wet looking for him.)
