well i am back. been a long couple of months...

dad did have surgery to take the cancer out. they had to take his voice box out. they told us that it would be a 7-10 hour surgery and it was 19. and then mom kept calling my husband to come help her, and when he found out she was leaving him at home alone (after he came home from surgery) to go to the casino. i threatened to call adult protective services. so now his sister is mad at me. oh-well. this thursday he starts 8 weeks of chemo and radiation. and that will happen @ 90 miles away. (i hope the price of gas goes down)

my computer crashed.

i sold my sheep. and i kept my big nanny and billy goat, and were just given a pair of pigmy goats. i love those little boogers! got some guineas, cause we had a mink attacking the chickens. and we have decided to sell the horses. with all the work my husband has been missing we just dont have the funds to care for them properly.

well... enuff whining for now i think i will look around and see what i missed...
In Missouri if a person is on Medicaid, they can get their travel expenses to the doctor reimbursed. I don't know anything about it in your state, but if your FIL qualifies, it might be worth checking in to. Best of luck to you and the family.

I don't think so. They are going up and wwill be staaying during the week at the ronald mcdonald house. But she wants us to drive up there on our oun to see them. I have a feeling I know why she wants us up there...she made a comment that "we know where the stores are-you know in case dad needs something" so she wants us to drive 90 miles each way to take her shopping. she has been unbeliveable during all this. She was leaving him home alone for 4-12 hrs at a time...and he can't talk, so if something would happen he couldn't get help. And she won't call the phone co to see about the special phone. And she won't get a handicap sign for the car- cause he doesn't go with her except to the dr appts. Grrrrr....

I could go on, but enuff ranting.

:hugs Oh wow. :hugs

Hang in there...

On the fowl (foul? LOL) topic, I bought 10 chicks and 4 lavendar keets last May. I read that if you raised the keets w/ the chickens, they would act more like chickens. I had 7 hens before I bought all these little ones.

Now I have 10 chickens that act like guineas, most of them roosters. Man, those things can flat fly and race around. :/

Your little goaties are cute. I am now the proud owner of four, three are Dwarf Nigerian - they're just like dogs and it's embarassing how much I like these things. :D
