McMurray Hatchery charges $50 for a dozen fertile runner duck eggs :ep

Well, we close on our loan today and yesterday they dug our well. We went 225 feet and we are getting 12-15 gallons per minute. I think we ended up paying $3600. It came in way under what we had budgeted so we are pleased.

I am sick. Been in bed the last 2 days with a sore throat and a fever of 102. Going to the doctor this afternoon. Feels like I have an ice pick in my temple every time I bend over.

Lori, I loved the Easter pics of you and your family....gorgeous!!! You are all so lovely to look upon!

I hope you find a fellowship group in which you are comfortable. I am having the same problem at my church...I know I should be going to fellowship with the women but I can tell they don't like me, so I don't feel comfortable either. Single women in a church are pariahs.

This may help you about the feelings you suffer in a crowd....when it starts to set in, just pray that God takes this feeling from you. I know that it sounds too simple but it really works for me! :hugs

Thanks everyone, seems I have strep throat :weee

Can you see the sarcasm?

After 2 doses of zythremyecin sp? I feel WAAAAAAAAy better. I stocked up on orange juice, yogurt, bananas, strawberries, and apple juice. Also treated myself to some organic roasted red pepper and tomato soup last night for dinner and man was it gooooood.

Today I'm doing laundry and taking it easy. I let the kids do some painting projects this morning and it is so pretty I'm gonna let them play all day and try to save my voice. Hopefully all will be well enough by tomorrow morning that I can go see my goat babies! We decided to take two little black does, sisters, with frost spots on their ears. So now we have 4 and are waiting for our first choice to kid out sometime in May. So we may actually end up with 5 instead of 4 :hide Can you tell my evil plan is working???????:thumbsup

As for the house, we are submitting all the paperwork for the building permit today so now we get to hurry up and wait!

Well, yesterday we skipped church to buy a lawnmower. Hubby's idea, not mine. Our friends met us at home depot and we bought a new cub cadet garden tractor with a 54 inch deck. It is crazy. Chad is doing a side job in a month or so and it will almost completely pay for the lawnmower so we took the plunge. We have one now but something is wrong with it and despite taking it to be serviced it still doesn't run. We have been tinkering with it for over a year and it is just not cost effective to keep it. It also doesn't have the horsepower to handle cutting around the edges of the pasture on the new farm so it will go on craigslist this week.

Taking it easy today, gotta go to TSC a little later for feed. Our friend let me help her cook dinner last night, ribeye steaks with grilled onions, baby bok choi, asparagus, green beans, mashed potatoes and a fresh spinach salad with pecans and raspberry vinagrette.

Hopefully we can get the fencing done this week but this weekend it is supposed to rain so we'll see. I'm hoping I can get our raised beds done over at the new property here in the next week or so cause I have got to get stuff planted, it's killing me!

Oh, I am posting a link for the pics of our recent goat visit! We had a blast and my have 2 more babies, thanks to my husband's weak heart! So we've gone from 4 to possibly 7 total. Now Chad is saying that he could forget the cows altogether and have like 20 goats.....oh boy, he's caught the fever!!!

Well, today is what, Thursday?

Catching up on laundry today, had so much that I filled up the line and still have 2 more loads to go....poor Chad had to wear the same pair of socks today that he wore yesterday but i have just been too busy running around to get it done and it rained yesterday so I have 3 loads on the line and another in the dryer. I'll wait to do the sheets/towels tomorrow.

Got to go to the dentist today.....catching up on bill paying.....Maddie went home with Granny and Papa to get spoiled for a week and today she has an appointment to get her hair cut at the beauty parlor...my, my, my. She's such a big girl. I can't wait to see what she looks like, she needed to have all the baby hairs trimmed off the bottom, her hair is outta control like her mama's

Got some seeds planted today, 5 different varieties of heirloom tomatoes, romas, banana peppers, california wonder peppers, eggplant, watermelon, and pumpkin. They are all in peat pots for now and hopefully by the time they are ready to transplant the new raised beds at the new farm will be ready and waiting.

I have decided to take the plunge and get into incubating eggs. I refuse to pay $200 for an incubator so hubby is going to build me one this weekend. He wants to build a cabinet style that we can put in the house. When not in use I'll throw a tablecloth over it and put a plant on top :D

I really want to start hatching out some duck eggs....we have so many chicken swaps here that I know I could sell some runner babies. I would love to get some fertile chicken eggs to hatch too but we have to get the new coop built first. I really like the BLRW but I want to make sure they are good layers, I may get a few buff orps and I might try some dominiques or black australorps.

Chad is excited to have a project! Gosh I hope it works!

You sure are busy today LOL. I don't envy the laundry duty. I was going to be doing mine this weekend, but since rain is expected..I'll be doing mine tonight and tomorrow night.

What is BLRW? Blue laced red wyandottes?

I'm so happy that your husband is on board with you. I have been slowly been turning mine over to the dark side LOL. It's shocking to me that he is coming on board. NOW, if I can only get him to finish some of the projects LOL.

Hope everything is going well with the new house.
