This past weekend we had the Muddy Buddy race at a local state park...our team name was Grossly Inappropriate. You had to go through an obstacle course and then finish by crawling through a mud pit. It would have been fabulous except that Saturday night the temperature dropped 25 degrees and it started pouring rain all dang day. The kids had a good time but they were really cold. I also got some cute pics of Lizzie before it got cold and wet.

Our friends and their two kids did the race with us...here we are all cleaned up!

I :love baby goats, they are so adorable!

Those games look like they are a blast! Everybody also looks pretty chilly! Wonder why they don't schedule them for a warmer month (or is that 'part of the fun'?!)?

The weather was a fluke....the day before it was 75 and sunny and had been in the mid to upper 70s all week long. Saturday night the temps dropped 25 degrees and it started raining but because there is so much involved in the race with setting up the obstacles and stuff there is no rain date. Usually with marathons there are no rain dates anyway but with a trail type run it is even more complicated.

We froze to death but still had a good time!

We had another race yesterday morning and then a friend brought his daughter over all afternoon, we went to a local feed store's farm day, and then to a birthday party. I didn't want to get up when the alarm went off this morning but I have been separating Lizzie at night and milking in the mornings and then milking her at night to make sure both sides are empty before I separate her again. I have a sneaking suspicion that Beth has learned how to nurse Lizzie through the fencing though so tonight she will go in a dog crate. I only got 2 oz out of her total this morning....now Lizzie is growing and healthy and constantly has a fat tummy so I KNOW she is producing plenty of milk so that means the little stinker is nursing her through the fence. :rant

Today hubby is helping a buddy build his deck. We cleaned the fish tank this morning :sick and the kids cleaned up their rooms 90% by themselves. Then we went through all Maddie's clothes and pulled out stuff for a friend's DD so her closet looks better. I'm just wiped out from all the running and crappy food the last few days. All I want to do is lay on a heating pad...after 3 days of rainy weather off and on my back is killing me.

I do need to pick some bok choy for dinner tonight and I probably have some more strawberries that need to be picked, even though I picked a whole bowl yesterday...I need to feed my sourdough starter...again. I have sourdough coming out my ears.

Gosh it's been a while....let's see. Got my shots for my back and feel much better, hatched 7 indian runner babies from our incubator before the bulb blew while I was out at a chicken swap and the remaining eggs are pretty much a bust, dark brahma hatched out 6 babies of her own, two white does had 12kits and 6 kits on the same day, beehives are okay...nuc is making a new queen, garden is pretty much planted, had to replant corn cause the birds got 95% of our seedlings, mallards are almost ready to go, Aliana is still pregnant, kids are still driving me crazy and we got a new puppy. That about sums it up!

I've been really busy and Tyler is getting ready to take his ITBS in mid June so we have been really cramming in schoolwork. It looks like it is going to rain today but I need to get at least one load of laundry done. I'm just exhausted. :p

Got rid of the puppy....yay! Chad's cousin took it and now we are hermit crab sitting for a friend. Bee meeting tonight. Bees are doing okay but not much to report. My nuc is making a new queen so hopefully they will make it but I don't know.

Garden is doing well...still doing some staggered plantings of things and getting ready to pull up all the snow peas.

Bunnies are well, we have two new litters of 7 each. One doe had 12 and we lost 3, the other 2 I put in with another doe and she lost 1. I made $100 last week on live bunny sales so I am happy.

Tyler took his ITBS for school and did pretty well. I posted about it in the homeschooling section.

My back is alright except for when it is rainy....thanks, dang arthritis.

Otherwise, everything is alright. Oh, Aliana the goat still has not had any babies. It is day 153 today. I am doubtful that she is even pregnant but I will give it until the end of this weekend....she has a small udder that has milk in it but I just don't know for certain. If she doesn't kid then I will rebreed her in August.

Good lord it has been forever...just thought I would post an update. Been busy, had a predator wipe out all 27 of our meat chickens last night so I am trying to figure out what is killing them all. We got several free roosters and they were all killed the first night. These guys had been out there for weeks and something got all of them last night. Had about 2-3 weeks until butcher date. I'm pissed.

Been making soap a lot for xmas gifts and have even sold some. Trying to get over a respiratory infection and now vertigo. Chad had an accident and ended up in surgery and out of work for a month so I'm going to start babysitting a little boy probably next week or two to help make some extra funds so I can still continue to homeschool the kids.

Gonna try to get everything ready for xmas...putting up lights this weekend probably...may wait to do the tree until the week before. Hope everyone is good, gonna try to catch up some. Been reading but not posting...
