I'm anxious to see the pics! We have an old ancient wood stove, and when we saw them in a show room, there are so many gorgeous ones now. I thought mine was quaint and cute until that day.

Maybe one day we can get a woodstove off the showroom floor but for now $100 is right up our alley! :D

Today we stayed local and did a little of this and a little of that. We went to a country store I've never been to before. I got some yummy butter beans, corn, and roasted peanuts (of course, this is VA). When I went to look at the chickens and other animals around back i seen they had about 8 ducklings in a small, dirty cage. They didn't have any water and were bloody from pecking eachother. I was so sad for them! The others were scovies but the smallest was of a different breed and being picked on pretty bad so I took him. The man at the store didn't know what any of them were but I didn't care I had to "rescue" this small duck....here's his pic.

After that we went to a small farm and got this little lionhead....ain't she SWEET :love

Here's a pic of the two guinea keets I hatched out....

And my strawberry pyramid I side-swiped with the lawnmower and had to fix the bottom ring with landscape timbers. Also the pig pen in the back, the ice house, and the clothesline (i love!) to the right. :D

You have a very pretty place. Do you use your ice house?

I bet that little duck is glad to be rescued.

Right now we're using it for storage. It's leaking water and the roof needs to be replaced. I would love to replace it with a green roof and make it a food storage house. However, the green roof is tough to find so I'll probably just do an insulated roof and try it for food storage. First I need to learn to grown my own food :hide

That duck looks kinda like a runner, or maybe a khaki cambell, he seems to be standing up kinda tall though. Your place is pretty! Great stove, I miss having a wood stove, I grew up with one and we kept it in the basement so that if it got too hot upstairs we could just close the door. Then my mom hung clotheslines from the rafters in the winter so we could line dry all our clothes with the heat from the woodstove. :D

Your place looks lovely, so neat and tidy. The baby animal pictures are just too cute!
