Tomorrow's the pig day.....opps I mean Big Day! The pig's going off to freezer camp! Tonight she had her last meal. She had some buttermilk, beans flavored with ham, some rolls and a half of an old hard donut for dessert. We have dad's lil' ol' pick up with a dog box on the back, a motorcycle ramp and chicken livers to get the pig in it. Wish us luck! I'll let you know how it turns out tomorrow.

PS: Dogs are doing great! More weight and personality each day!

Sounds delish. We had pork roast for dinner, with sweet potato and asparagus.......I marinated the roast in beer and cooked it in brown sugar and onions. It was delish!

Very cool.

Last night I cooked a couple ham steaks from the pig I bought. They were very yummy.

Sorry if I missed it but do you know-how much it weighs?

Stupid pig!!! So my DH is working and at school all day so I attempted to get the pig in the truck myself. Wow! Guess what, the pig didn't know that the open door and ramp was for her to go in. The trail of chicken livers leading into the dog box didn't even temp her. She took off and ran circles around the truck that me and DS were standing on top of. She then took a tour around the yard, played with some kids toy, chased a few ducks, then I thought she went into the neighbors yard or made a run for it because I didn't see her for a few. Then my son, still on top of the truck, yells she's around front. So I run around front and tried to lure her with some bits of cheese....she could care less, apparently freedom was more tempting. After chasing her around the yard yelling "here piggy piggy" and holding my breath as she headed down the driveway at the same moment our speedy postman was zipping by (I can only imagine what he thinks of us at this point) I grab the bowl of chicken livers and some rope (yeah I know) and as she put her face in the bowl I lassoed her with the rope....what do you think happened next??? No it wasn't so bad, I think she was wore out because she just let me lead her back to her pig pen (well after she tugged me around a little). What a relief!! Attempt two, with dad's help, coming soon...

That is hilarious! I still want to get a pig, even if it runs away from me....it's even funnier cause we just read the chapter in Charlotte's Web where they say Wilbur will make great bacon and he faints and then they have to wrestle him into the crate....
