:ya We were suppose to split an order of turkeys put they got shipped to the wrong place and 1/2 were lost... :( Glad you can enjoy yours! ;)
Didn't you get a new shipment? Turkeys are sweet, I love them!
I have no idea what happen! Hubby made the deal. At least we hadn't paid for them. It's OK, I found a local guy (a 4H leader) that will sell the same type of turkey for $3 ! No shipping needed! But I have to wait 'till June. Don't think you can beat that unless you get them free!
That is a good deal! I sell my poults for $5 each up to 2 weeks old. After 2 weeks, I hold onto them.

Time for the weekly progress report and pics on the CX. I call this pic "No Shoving!!!"

5_no_pushing_wait_your_turn_7_wks.jpg

....you would think this is the only waterer they have but it isn't. They have water all over this property to access and a 5 gal. bucket waterer in the coop but I think they remember this one fondly as it was the one they used when they were new chicks. They love this one the best and try to use it all at once. I hardly ever see just one meaty drinking....when one wants a drink, they ALL want a drink. When one lays down for a nap, they ALL lay down...when one gets up and goes off to forage, they all converge on the yard and woods in a big wave of white.

If I didn't know any better I'd think they were all hens.... :D

In the clover.....

And bedding down for the night....

And I call this one "Are they done yet, Mom?"

Three more weeks to go!!! :weee One of the meaties laid down between Mom and I on a bench today and let us pet him until he nodded off to sleep. All the while he sang a little song...and people think these birds have no personality! Some helped me plant rhubarb and hill up taters today.... :he and others followed me around like I had a pocket full of lucky charms or something.

I'll miss these guys when they are gone.

I always thought that was the grossest thing when cows ran their tongues halfway to their brains up a nose hole....wonder why they do that? Like the taste? Ick.

Thanks! I think they look happy...they always seem to be enjoying themselves so very much. I have hundreds of pics and several videos of them by now...I guess I'm just amazed at how much they act like regular chickens when they get the opportunity. This place has forage my place never had. It's a true chicken's paradise around here!

When they put their tongue in their nose like that, they're not picking their nose, they're pointing to their brain.
