Cooked cauliflower tastes nasty. It does not substitute for anything.

It's the only vegetable I cannot stand the flavor of. It's ok when raw.

hahaha, i love it in any form. even mushy overcooked. it's bland enough to take on the flavor of most anything else, but it does have the cabbage flavors going on. some people don't like anything related to cabbage...

I love cabbage. Brussels sprouts are great. I just have never liked cooked cauliflower. We did eat it as kids. Also ate liver which I also don't like. I can choke down anything I need to.

Had someone try and pass mashed cauliflower off as mashed potatoes. They said it was potatoes. I couldn't eat it passed the first bite. I did try to politely tell them that one of their ingredients went bad and maybe we shouldn't eat it. Then they confessed to what it really was. Personally I think that was a horrible thing to do on their part as they didn't know if anyone had an allergy.

I can taste the difference between general potato type-waxy vs starchy or the inbetweeens. The inbetweens aren't as good. Can also tell how old they are. You cannot get instant potatoes past me. I like instant as well for super quick meals or just thickening something.
