Kombucha would be great!!! Good idea!

I have the exact same bucket on my stand. I love being able to clean it.

Oh, I meant the container in the recipe that the udder wipes called for. :p

But YES, those feeders are very handy. I added another board to the front so it wouldn't hang down so far.

Our other milk stand has the wooden feeder attached, and the chickens roost on it! AACCKK! We have a board that fits over it so the goats don't have to put their noses in chicken crap.

If you need more pictures to help you get a better idea I took some while I was building it, feel free to pm me and I can send some.

I tried an udder wash with bleach and it was too drying on our does' teats. Libby's teats are always dry as it is anyway. I just use a warm clean rag with soapy water now. I found this one on a different forum.. Anyone want to give it a go and report back to me? :p

Ingredients
1 tsp. unscented homemade soap, finely grated
1 tsp. grapeseed oil (I like this because it is very moisturizing)
cup vinegar (white or apple)
roll of strong paper towels, like Viva (cut the roll, including the cardboard tube, in half).
1 to 2 cups HOT water to dissolve the soap (may need more water and/or vinegar)

Add water to a tightly lidded, suitable container (about 5 or 6 inches in diameter, and about 6 to 7 inches high depending on your roll). Add soap and oil; let the soap dissolve. I had to use a whisk to get the soap to mix. The soap cleans and helps keep the oil and water mixed. Remove the cardboard center and put the cut roll of paper towels in the container. Put lid on container and turn the container upside down until the liquid absorbs. Pull wipes from the center.

Alternately, you could use folded wash cloths (homemade or purchased) in the container instead of the paper towels. I like that idea personally.
HA I just made wipes kinda using Fias co's recipe, with the paper towels cut, I only use viva. I used a plastic coffee can, and in it
2 cups of water
5 drops Lavender oil
5 drops tea tree
A dollop of grapeseed oil - just poured and guessed. Probably about half a cup.
about a teaspoon of dish soap - dawn.

It works really well, I had to add another bit of water as the center of the paper towels weren't wet. My kids used it today to wipe the counter tops down! (next time I'll use the vinegar instead of extra water and see how that works!)

I bought a bunch of cheapo washcloths a while back, and then yesterday bought more, they're $4 a walmart for 18 of them and they come in super handy around the kitchen, I generally use them instead of the paper towels.
I might pull a few just for goat use.

I found the bleach to be drying as well, I went ahead and bought some iodine wash from Hoegger. I might try your milk idea tho, free. Hey, it works for breastfeeding moms, why not :p

I use "bag of rags" which is just a 1lb bag of t-shirt cloth, already conveniently cut into slightly larger than washcloth size squares. I pack them down in a quart jar so they are easy to pull out one at a time. I put enough for 5-6 days (two milkings per day), then pour the diluted iodine wash into the jar & cap it tightly.

I used to make my own baby wipes using water & a few drops of baby soap the same way, with the old wipes container. Nifty!

:D Didn't feel like I had to wait long at all.

I have my stainless steel bowl and some jars all ready sterilized, I washed out one of the ducks water bowls, a small rubber dish to use for her food. I set up a water bucket and stuff last night and closed off that pasture from my other animals.

ALL SET! :D
