Interesting..

I know people complain about what meats are ok to eat and stuff like that..

But each country eats different meats..

Like one will eat cows..
Another worships them..

Some eat frogs other dont..

Some countrys raise dogs to eat..
Other countrys dogs are pets..

Ect.. Ect....

Hmmm..

I wonder what zebra tastes like.. Ive had buffalo.. Ive tried Kangaroo and alligator jerky..

But I dont think I could eat that.. They are related to horses and horses are my fav. animal. But if I got hungry enough.. Maybe..

I bet that pizza is very expensive...

There was someone on my kijiji looking for horse meat..

As you can imagine, that went over like a lead balloon.

Wouldn't Zebra be like a gamier version of horse meat?

I would think so.. But have no idea.. Ive never even tried horse meat.. I hear it is sweet.. And that the VA hospitals used to serve horse meat to patients cause it made them heal faster.. Heard that from a patient that was fed horse while hospitalized.. I think it was in the 60s or 70s

You can actually buy horse meat in the grocery stores in Quebec.

Personally I would never in a million years eat horse, but I do understand that to another person a horse is just the same as a cow is to me... food. I guess I would eat it if I absolutely had to...

I think the taste would depend on if the Zebra was actually wild... this article said they raised by farmers, so I would think that would take some of the 'wild' taste out of the meat. They're just a little too close to horses for me to want to try it.

Here in America (specifically TX) breeding Zebras is huge, but out of 10 shipped Zebras, 7-8 die, so I am not surprised at the meat used.

We have a honest-to-god Zedonk**, and his breeder loves zebra meat and has skins all over his house!! He just gets too many deaths during shipping.

**I NEVER suggest a zedonk or any wild hybrid to anybody, they are strong and dangerous. I started out with wolf and lynx hybrids, so I have been born and raised into it.

I don't mean to sound stupid, but what is a Zedonk? I've never heard the term before.

Is it a zebra-donkey mix? :hu
