Molly's kidding thread~Buckley improved~just waitin' on a normal poo

Katie it was a bulb just holding fluid, but now she has passed that and it was the placenta just after it. There is still a stringy thing hanging but it looks very similar to when Ginger was done and just had not passed everything yet.

My son went in with her while I was on the computer and coaxed her to let him nurse. We had to hold her back leg. Then she wanted to eat the placenta, :sick :sick :sick but she got so interested in that, we were able to let the buckling nurse a second time. She still seems to be having active contractions.

I think she may be done now that the bubble turned into a placenta.

Remember that they have to eat that placenta. If they do not, they will get PPD, which is caused by loss of all the hormones and minerals it contains.

Eh, I've had plenty not eat the placenta and never have issues. :idunno I don't really think it matters either way.

And glad everything is going ok!!! So all that fussing at her to have her baby worked!!

Well she ate it! :sick I really almost threw up. I thought I had a strong stomach but no......

The little guy seems thinner than Gingers kids. Ginger would nurse him, we can already tell. We were cutting the umbilical cord and Ginger wanted to clean him up. Molly has not licked him at all.

I'm thinking I need to stay out there and observe for quite awhile tonight.

I'm wondering if she does not accept him if I should put him in with the other two overnight? Would that make it harder for Molly to accept him tomorrow? I'm worried that since there seems to be just the one, Molly won't keep him warm or nurse him overnight.

I could move everyone over to the big stall where Molly just gave birth, but I dunno.

Weird because Molly wanted Ginger's babies. To tell you the truth, her own buckling looks more like the buck. He is already named Sebastian Junior.

I think we will call the other one Buckley now. Buckley and Sebastian Junior actually look a whole lot alike. I'll take some good photos tomorrow.

At least the little guy made it.

It's a tough call. I wouldn't separate them if she's already having issues accepting him. It probably wouldn't hurt if you put them all together (molly included). Just make sure Molly and Ginger aren't being mean to each other's kids. Molly might come around, it might just take a little time for her to calm down.

ok SEE SEE SEE!! i told you it was gross!!!

it sounds like what Nibbles did. will the other momma take him? Nibbles took care of hers for about 2 days and then i was afraid she was going to kill them. some folks said to give it a couple days, but i really thought she would kill them.

we put Debbie (our other momma) on the stand and let the babies nurse off her. it totally worked but Debbie wouldnt take care of them.

yikes! good luck!
