They have a technique that they use....put "biodegradable" on the label. In the consumer's mind, that means "safe and non-toxic." Proof of this was in a thread last year on byh about using it on horse pastures....the OP was convinced that it was safe, as are many, many people in this country.colowyo0809 said:Took this from the website, and reposted it on FB. I get more and more angry with these types of people
Monsanto Monstrosities Swept Under the Rug
Last year, the supreme court of France found Monsanto guilty of falsely advertising its herbicide Roundup as "biodegradable" and "environmentally friendly." Scientific evaluation discovered that glyphosate, the active ingredient in RoundUp, is acutely toxic to fish and birds and can kill beneficial insects and soil organisms that maintain ecological balance. Additionally, the surfactant ingredient in Roundup is more acutely toxic than glyphosate itself, and the combination of the two is even more toxic.
The key was that it took many months and lawsuits to get it off the label, but by then, the concept that it was biodegradable and safe was firmly implanted in the public's minds and it no longer mattered that it was no longer labeled as such. Then it when it was introduced into France, they again put "biodegradable" on the label, knowing full well that it is NOT. So the lawsuits ensued, and it took months and months (of stalling) to get it removed from the label.
This shows how incredibly evil Monsanto is. Their official policies are evil and they aren't afraid to show it. They don't need to be, since the average consumer does not educate themselves about products, and allows the media and ADVERTISING to be their primary education about all products.
When I was a nutraceutical consultant, working with doctors, I would have them survey their patients. One of the series of questions had to do with how the patients make decisions on what health products they use. Almost all checked off boxes that indicated media, like magazines and tv. I did this to show the doctors that their patients NEEDED guidance to make good decisions, as they were allowing themselves to be misled. It was a powerful tool to convince these health professionals of the need to provide proper education for their patients, and not just tell them to "clean up their diet and take supplements." This also showed me why products like RoundUp are still so widely used, and why poisons like hydrogenated fats and GMO foods are not being boycotted enough to make a big difference. Throw a few "studies" into widely read magazines, commonly found in doctor's offices, and you have instant complacency.
Shoot, I need to get back to doing that stuff.
