I really like it. Free is good! What color are you going to paint it? It does need paint, the wood needs the protection. Since you have all those lovely planks, I vote for a different color on each one.
THanks everyone! @baymule I love the idea of lots of different colors, but I'm thinking of painting the coop and the shop all one color to pull it all together. It'll probably be whatever color I can get cheap, but I'm thinking maybe light grey or maybe a light green, with darker accents. It gets hot down here so dark colors are out.
Here's my newest distraction. I have an area that is over the septic but is very rocky and hard to mow. I cant put anything permanent there in case the septic needs to be dug up. I recently put 2 yo free hay on top of the weeds, hoping to kill some of them off and even out the area. Today I used free pallets to build a temporary fence. My goal is to plant a flower garden there to attract bees and butterflies and other pollinators. But my chickens free range, soooo, I have to have a fence until the plants are well established. I have to add a gate, but the fence is about 30' x 11'. I'm hoping to plant hollyhocks, sunflowers, daisies, black-eyed susans, moonflowers, 4 o'clocks, lavendar, butterfly bushes, maybe morning glories and honeysuckle. Whatever grows there will be much more beautiful that the weedy mess that's usually there. You just can't go wrong having a pollinator garden close to the orchard and regular garden. And those pallets were just begging to be used.
