On the tape note....

If you cover a wart with grey tape, it will go away.
Grey tape as in duct tape?
Yes, duct tape. I'm lliving proof that this works. everynight, soak wart, buff off dead shkin, apply tape, go to sleep. You wil havet to do this for a long while, but it does work. I did this three years ago, and the wart ha not come back.

I've been using straight ammonia for a few years after reading the ingredients in a expensive little bottle of an after bite remedy. Works good for me and I get bit up pretty good in my garden of weeds. Stinks a little but wakes you up.
Yes non-perfumed ammonia is what is used in most sting / bite medicines.

I will have to try the duct tape remedy but would think that it is just buying you time in not scratching and irritating it that seems like a cure rather than just waiting the same amount of time for the body to do its natural thing otherwise.

I got stung by a couple bees this past weekend and used the baking soda & water method. I had to apply a few times, but the sting went away. I should try it on mosquito bites, as well as the alcohol & tape method. I'm not sure I would want to use ammonia. I hate the way that stuff smells. :sick

FYI,
I dab straight ammonia, on fly, mosquito, and bee stings and it "WORKS" great.
You're right; I read the ingredients on one of the store bought tube "dabber "applicators, to stop
the itch of insect bites, all it said was "AMMONIA"
....Bingo !!!!
Save money... Buy large bottles of ammonia I keep some inside and out, and my kids usually take a bottle home..Since it works for them; also!!! :thumbsup

best remedy I stumbled on by accident playing around with essential oils is a tiny dab of lemon eo directly on the bite. sometimes it stings for a second then no itching ever again. The relief is almost instant.

should be able to get the same effects by making a pultice from lemon rind.
