Super Self-Sufficient
We are looking at ways to slow the runoff down...as it flows on it's way to a pond about 2 properties away. We have moderate drought issues, and we feel it would be better to not only utilize the rain barrels..(which we do), but also have some catchment of some sorts. 1 acre...with the well almost right in the middle....I think would limit our choices for some things.
I know a lot of things cannot be built or kept with in so many feet of a well. SS is becoming a necessity, as well as maintaining our clean potable water. The soil is sandy, on top of clay, with spots of organic topsoil and the one ditch line through the middle. We have the road ditch line up front....and it directs a portion of run off towards the back ditch.
Cattails....just another one of our experiments...to best manage and utilize whatever we can from this 1 little green acre in South Carolina.

So, I went all the way down to the DMV. Locked up tight. I noticed the post office parking lot was empty, but this being a small town, an empty parking lot is to be expected now and again. So...I come back home and make my noodles. Guess I'll putter 'round the ranch for the day. I don't even know if the dump will be open this afternoon. I know they close for some holidays.
I forgot!!! It is President's Day...shoulda realized DD was still in bed..no school today either :/ Sorry you wasted a trip moxie!!! I HATE that!
