This is not new and has been going on long before I got into the dairy industry in 1990, we used special giant 10 ton centrifuges to separate out all the different parts, some went for milk additives while most were shipped to California and Texas as cattle feed and whey by products. To be fair all raw milk was held in a holding silo and tested for somatic cells and antibiotics before being commingled. I was trained on $200k Foss analyzers that did what you say - sorry it was 20 years ago and didn't know then.

The more I read about food sold at typical grocery stores, the more I want to live off of only what I can produce here on my little few acres. If I can get my farm pond filled and holding water, I can get fish from that, and can learn to process my chickens. The veggie garden and fruits are coming along.

So much to learn, but SO MUCH BENEFIT from doing it the right way.

Wow! Thanks for the info.....this one is new to me.
Seems like there is always someone in a company who comes up with a genius idea to cut ingredient cost to increase profit, I know that's how businesses work, but the consumers always suffer for it.

Lots of laws about seatbelts & helmets & guns. I guess you are not allowed to die messily, someone has to clean that up, but it's ok to put all kinds of weird stuff in peoples food because that takes a while to do damage. If big food companies also owned medical facilities, they could make an astounding profit!

Looks like I'm sitting here in my tinfoil hat......really I'm not crazy, but even though I have so many things to be thankful for, I still get frustrated sometimes at how the world works.

Great. That's the source for whey protein, like in those protein powders that you drink? I may sneak into the kitchen and throw away my SO's (expensive) protein powder! :barnie

Is this listed under ingredients? Is it in powdered milk? Would I even know? I don't want any milk products shipped in from China!
