We came home last night to one pip and lots of peeps coming from that egg.
After baby's 5am feeding I went down to check, and there is no change in the pip, though another egg is rocking away with it. I would guess that the pip started at least 12 hours ago.

A little history. This hatch started with over 20? eggs, and we are down to 7 viable.
I know these are fussy to hatch, and that is being proven out for sure.

At what point do I see if they need help? Should I unplug the big hole and try misting the eggs off and on?

FYI, I do not want to help too much either, as I know that is not very healthy in the long run.

How's the humidity level? I'd definitely mist them a bit if it's only about 50-60% humidity, but that's just me. I like it to be more humid so they don't shrink wrap during the hatching process.

We have a grand total of 2 ducklings :)
I had to help both of them a little bit, as we only had pips after 24 hours.
The other 5 that were in there, never made it :(

I cleaned the bator this afternoon, and added 26 RIR eggs, and 12 EEs.

You are so welcome!! What did Steve decide about keeping them vs sending them back?

Sounds good. The kids think they are so cute---reminded them of what their ducklings looked like last year. What surprised me about muscovies was how sturdy they are compared to chicks. They aren't too hard to sex. Also, they grow fast and in the next couple of weeks one may look bigger. If one is bigger, he is likely a male. If you end up with two females, DD is hoping that Wiggle can go live with you. ;)
