Need chicken advice quickly!

A friend just sent me a message saying that she fed her hens some really ripe avacado's, then found out that they aren't supposed to eat them. She ran out and grabbed out what was left but the hens had pretty much demolished them already.

Are they really that toxic to poultry? Is there anything that she can do now?

I have not had any problems with my hens and avocodos. I think it's the skin and the pit that might be toxic but mine never eat those parts.

I tried to google it, but only came up w/recipes for avocados and chicken. Sorry.

Over at BYC....many say it's fine. It may give the diarrhea but other than that...no prob.

I'm not sure how you know a chicken has the runs, that's always mad me wonder (no explanation necessary, lol)
