So I guess it's not such a crazy idea that I could wean myself off. Right now, I'm just doing one serving of gluten-containing product a day (generally bread), which is good because I'm still able to function, at least as normally as before. Then I should be able to drop it entirely when I'm on vacation in 2 weeks.

I have been gluten free for about two months. I suffered from "IBS" for a couple of decades, and suddenly my digestive system works nearly perfectly. Unbelievable. I wish I had done this sooner.

So my digestive system has never felt better, but the problem is...I have never felt worse!

I am SO sluggish, sleepy (mostly in the afternoon), in a heavy brain fog, struggling to concentrate, struggling to follow basic conversations, etc. I feel terrible! What's going on? I'm eating lots of fresh veggies, dairy, eggs, and non-gluten grains once in a while. I don't eat meat. Have I cut out vitamins from not eating fortified flour? Do I need more carbs? Less carbs because the occasional frozen yogurt is setting me on a roller coaster? Something is definitely not right, and after two months, gluten withdrawals or "I must be coming down with the flu" can't be the case anymore. Any ideas? Thanks, everyone.

I don't eat anything fake (i.e. margarine) or anything low fat. So my fat is all from eggs, nuts, olive oil (sometimes other oils in salad dressing), butter, whole milk, and cheese. I'm not sure how much in terms of percentage of calories.

I would try increasing my protiens some and eating 5 smaller meals a day. Sounds like your blood sugars are running on the low side for you, and what is perceived as low for one person can be different for another.

If a yogurt flips you out I think this is likely the problem... and I am assuming that yogurt may have some fruit or sugar in it.

I am fairly fruit sensitive. I can't eat a lot of it because it makes me sluggish. I don't have problems with berries though.

You also may want to look into the book Eat Right For Your Blood Type. according to this work a no concentrated carb diet just isn't right for everyone.... but since you are already on it I would play it out to the hilt to really find out if it works for you. This work is actually quite complex and here is a forum that discusses it.

Some people have had remarkable results after getting onto the right diet for their blood type. Basically the low carb diet is for blood type O

Another issue it could be is that you have a low grade microbe infection. These types of infection are not detectable to doctors, yet when you get rid of it you feel much better. This is what many MMS users have found out and it certainly was true for me.
