Lovin' The Homestead
Hey!
First of all, im glad that i found your website, it seem really nice and people seems very kind.
Markus here, a man of 25, married with my wife Jessica and father to three (in march 2012 it's 4!).
We live on a leased small farm in south of Sweden, outside of Vxj.
(Like you knew.. )
Have some hens/chickens, bunnys/rabbits, ducks.
2 dogs (a .. random? and a english cocker spanielpuppy) some cats (to many).
We own a small cottage about 150km south, but it's were to small so we had to move.
(It's an old house, built 1796!) And it is about 4000kvm of land there.
We lived there for about three years and totaly OffGrid (no electricity and no running water (you say that? running water?..) )
Had some pigs before but after that we had to run after them around the village and around in the forest they had to move.
It was only our neighbour who thought that was fun!
The good thing was that i got a real good condition! You don't know how fast a pig can run before you have been trying to catch one!
I have been working as a lumberjack for about 10years (started when i was 15!) and sinces about three years i have my own small buiness in wood and tourism.
(Take a look: in swedish.. www.smalandadventure.se)
We (my wife and i) are going in a "huntingclass" to become hunters.
I think, that's the most important question for us, is to know where our food comes from and that it has been provided in a good way.
The dream of my life is to buy my own land out in the wild somewhere and build my own house outside of this crazy world, far away from citys, supermarkets and requirements on how you should live, and let my kids grow up and learn a good way of living.
In our garden we grow some potatos, carrots, some onions and etc.
I also have a lot of herbs and spicies because i like to cook.
(You have to eat, so why don't eat good food?)
But the season is over for now.
Med vnliga hlsningar!
/Markus
