My potato plants doubled in size over the last 3 days or so. No joke, I got a bit of a fright when I checked on them this morning lol Something likes the rain it seems. Carrots are putting out strong second sets of leaves. Strawberries recovered from replanting into tubs and are looking great. Beans are looking great. I STILL didn't plant the pepper seeds. I'm half-heartedly (i.e. I'm too lazy to go dig through the neighbour's dump pile) looking for the right pots to put them in.

We had our second thunderstorm in the year we've been here yesterday. Of course when we were walking and about a mile or so from home at the time :) Otherwise the weather's been good here. Warm, 78*F the other day. It's Ireland, that's warm!

Spinach is about ready to harvest. Corn is valve high maters are doing great. But the peppers and cucumbers need a bit more heat.

We are TWENTY INCHES of rain above normal for this time of year. Roads have washed out, culverts collapsed, houses flooded, it's been nuts. Cold at night, I've had lousy germination of seeds.

I finally sewed the peppers, now :fl I put 8 seeds in, thinking optimistically if they all grow, that will be enough to keep me in peppers. The rest of the tub garden is looking fantastic, except the newest potato tub that is yet to show signs of growth. I may toss and replant that one. The other potato tub is now full of compost (I started with it half full and topped it up as the plants grew).

After a wonderful warm, dry spell lasting 2 weeks I got a wonderful surprise this morning when I checked the trays. ALL the pepper seeds I planted are up! :weee

I put some tomato seeds in a few days ago and more potatoes. I think I'm done for now.

They all look so healthy! Proud of you!! Doesn't it make you feel good to watch them grow, just waiting for that first bite!
