I think we'll be going without a toaster oven, after DH almost started the house on fire last week with ours.

Other than that, we're going to double our garden space, & hopefully try my hand again at canning, after a 10 year break! :D

This must be the year of the killing of microwaves,.. Mine has been "acting up" and I told DH if it goes out,..that's it. I will not buy no more of those things. We only use ours to defrost stuff,.....so no love loss. I just need to push it on over the edge! :D It would give me more counter space! :ya

Second year of a back porch garden :)

I already have my compost going. Not sure what else to do. I'm about as SS as I can get for where I live right now other than the garden.

I would DIE if I couldn't reheat my coffee in the microwave. :barnie :ep
Since I am the world's slowest coffee-drinker, I have those coffee-warmer thingies (with the little round metal heating elements that plug in) one in the kitchen, one in my office...LOVE LOVE LOVE 'EM!! :ya

(I know, not very SS. Just sayin'....)

I am such a coffee hog, that I mounted an antique folding warmer shelf off of an old wood stove, on the side of my smoker, so that I can keep my coffee warm(hot) while I am cooking on the smoker in the winter. :D :D The wood smoke adds a little flavor to the coffee. :gig

I have three resolutions. Raise most of our meat. Raise most of the animal feed. Then build another rabbit hutch.

If I want to keep my coffee warm, I have a small candle holder w/holes in the sides. I just light a candle, then put my mug on the top. The holes allow air in, and it does just fine as a coffee warmer.

All this talk about "re-heating" coffee!? Really? Mine doesn't get a chance to go cold, or even sometimes cool down. I am a coffeeholic...It lasts about 5 minutes in the cup.
As for my New Years SS resolutions.

Bigger garden
Herb garden
plant more fruits
can more meats

Now, as for the "honey do list" I don't think I have tim e to sit here and type all THAT out!

These aren't really resolutions, they are more of a to-do list :p
More meat (finish chicken tractor, order meaties)
More fruit (grapes, currants, gooseberries, expand strawberries and raspberries, do something about non-bearing fruit trees)
Cattle panels to divide pasture, one strip per year
Cattle panels around the garden that the goats ate
Bee hives (maybe)
Maple syrup (maybe)
