Hi everyone, I am excited to join this forum. I am learning about increasing my self sufficiency on a quarter acre block in rural/remote Australia. So far, my greatest achievement is attracting a bunch of fat and healthy wild rabbits in my garden 😛

My pekin duck just hatched her first lot of ducklings and it is a joy to watch them play in the pen, but it is a hot weekend, so I am spending my Australia day checking on the chicks in the shade and filling up the water tray after mumma duck tips it by trying to sit in it.

Happy to have been approved to join and looking forward to learning from the members here :)

Welcome from Texas. Glad to have you here! Been keeping up with the fires. They are awful.

Welcome @Daisy . So good to have some folks from S of the equator here! We can live vicariously through your gardening efforts until we can play in the soil ourselves. I'll be one of the last ones to get to play in the soil, and I am among the most northern folks, though there are some who are north of me, if not by lattitude, then by temperature.

I'll be starting some ducks this spring (had some Mallards about 35 years ago, but that was almost a lifetime ago!). I'm also downsizing my garden and chicken flock.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone :D I think I am going to have some fun on this forum. I really am a newbie to self sufficiency and a slow learner when it comes to gardening. Haha. I do not have any like minded mates in real life so it is a thrill for me to be here :)
