Other breeds (alpines and saanens in particular) are much lower. But goat milk is naturally homogenized so it doesn't separate out well. That is more of the issue with goat butter!

I made butter earlier in the week. I have a refrigerator full of milk so I grabbed some of the jars and started skimming it off with ladle. I made about a half cup of nice white butter! It is certainly not as easy to get the cream as it is with cows milk because of the natural homogenization - but it definitely is possible!

I'd love to know what goat milk butter tastes like… You guys are going to have me keeping goats, I can tell!

I've never made it, my milk doesn't last that long! Maybe someday I'll get a cream separator... Someday...

I know, I thought they were too!

Patty is starting to fill in a bit better, and her buckling is with her full time. Happy about that!

Allergies are less than awesome right now. Sigh.

Cleaned out Patty's stall today and kicked her and baby out with the others. Breaking for lunch then out to bolus and putter in the garden maybe. DH is making deviled eggs, he got excited that I hard boiled some yesterday lol

Yay for outside stuff! (unless the heat index is a zillion degrees like it is here). But I'm not complaining, lol. Nice of DH to make the deviled eggs...my dh wouldn't know where to start! (but he does know how to eat them, lol)
