We did SQ cause we hate IM shots lol. She jumped up to greet me this morning, pooped and chewed her cud. Still loose but starting to have some definition to it. I'll give her probiotics again this morning, does she need another B complex shot?

Darn goats, DD1 wants to show her in 4H. She has to make it! I've spent a stupid amount of money on her already, and learned more from internet friends than the actual vet. Guess I'll try yet another vet or suck it up and drive an hour to the one I like.

Oh and it's going to be super fun to clean her butt later.

I have Toltrazuril ordered so I'll get on that also. I meant to order it before kidding season for prevention but never did. I will put them on prevention, since her system is stressed I don't need that taking over.

I've done it SQ also - it still gets there. It wouldn't hurt to do another B-injection. It doesn't necessarily do anything directly to stop the scours - it's more rumen support. But, healthy rumen - healthy goat, lol.

OK probiotics given. In fact, the last of my probiotics given. Guess I'm going shopping again! The mess on her back end is dry, so that's a good sign. It's raining and thundering so I dashed out to check on her quickly while baby was sorta entertained lol. We'll give more B complex when DH gets home (he's supposed to be roofing today. Uh huh... Supposed to storm all day...) I'll give shots in an emergency but he's more comfortable with it than I am.

Clifford did this when he was a baby, it was just from too fresh green hay. If I hadn't been treating them for other things I would be pretty confident that's what is going on with her. If it weren't for her poop she appears perfectly healthy. I guess my favorite goats are the ones who like to make me work the hardest! Haha

Doesn't that seem to be the way it goes?! Glad her attitude and demeanor looks good - that's a good sign. Goats! ARGH!

Do you ever daydream about the vacation you could take with the money you spend homesteading? Yeah... I'm burnt out. Pep talk people, I need one!

When I have diarrhea I dose myself with Apple Cider Vinegar mixed half and half with honey. I pour an ounce in a small glass of water and sip on it until it's gone. In about 30-45 minutes it is gone. This works for food poisoning too. If it works for me and everyone I've ever told this to, it should work for your goat. Hope she is OK.

Ummmm...This too will pass!! It'll all get better!! DD1 LOVES the goats! You love them too (most of the time, lol). Growing up with critters is a good lesson for kids - it teaches them responsibility! Ummmmm….hang on a minute...I'm coming up with more.... Goats taste good? LOL!

So, how is she doing tonight? Better - I hope!

She was about the same last night. I'm about to go check on her again. I've officially spent all our money for the week (after bills, mostly on animals) so I can't bring her to the vet. I have Toltrazuril shipping, should be here Friday, and she'll be dewormed again Saturday. If she goes down I'll pull a favor and borrow money, otherwise I'm doing what I can do. I'm probably not going to return to the same vet though. I might just make the long haul to the one I like.

And now my gilt is out. Apparently my hog panels that held full size hogs in are no match for a little AGH who has run out of fresh grass.
