They are, yes. But we don't have permanent fencing so we have additional labor moving their electric fence constantly!

I have enough milk frozen to make 30+ batches of soap (last count), so even if I don't milk I'll still be soaping lol!

She was only briefly milked last year and I really think there's truth to that being an issue in the future.

It seems to, yes. That's why "dairies" pull at birth & bottle feed. I have goats that have been treated both ways. I can see a difference in duration of their lactation, for certain. Some still produce well, some want to quit when the kids do. I am thinking I will try one next year who has always raised her kids, to bottle babies & milk her full time. She may not work with it as she is an awesome mom!! As is her mom. They dote on their kids. Maybe another goat would be better to try it with.

I would consider buying a doe in milk from that dairy -- if you want milk and have gotten rid of the others. After all, the GGs won't be kidding in 2019, right? Personally, I like the full sized does for milking. Do one, not 3, for as much milk.

What kind do they have? I love my Saanens!

These are alpines. Mostly alpines around here. And nubians but the prices are insane on them. Some saanens but I usually only see them as bottle babies. I'd like an oberhasli.

Holy Cannolli! You are good! I never even thought to Google someone who was coming to my place. I'm way too trusting. Goat people are all good, right? Ugh... now I'm starting to think of lots of instances where goat people aren't all that great, lol!

I also don't give anyone my exact address until right before they are leaving to come here and my husband is home. Maybe paranoid but... Safer!

It has been pouring all day with the occasional blue poking through. Mostly pouring though. We need it but I do not need wet grass for the parasites. Good thing is, we can keep moving the girls in the area they're in right now and it shouldn't cause long term problems, since I normally don't put goats there. I'll run the chickens through then make it lawn.

Also, polish chickens look ridiculous when they're soaked. Hilarious!
