Lol if we hadn't liked it, we would have just gotten DD a couple fiber wethers. But we all loved it. Mmm shepherd's pie is awesome.

Yeah it's been awful heat and humidity and I'm over it!

I love lamb shanks too.

I haven't tried them in the oven, but I've done them in the crockpot with tons of garlic, some rosemary and about a half a bottle of red wine. To DIE for! :drool

Mmm that sounds good! I can't wait to try goat now too. As soon as it cools down we'll butcher a wether. He's small still but that's alright, I'm not keeping him through the winter! He is a unicorn, lol bad disbudding job. I got a horn to the leg yesterday (not purposeful), definitely not a fan of horned goats.

Last night Stanley jumped the fence. Flying boar! Lol! DH fixed that promptly. With my goat downsizing I have spare 4' fencing to use for winter, apparently I'll need it!

Weird we won't be butchering pigs this fall. Looks like a goat and two cockerels, that'll be quick. Going to try to can the chicken. Oh and someone offered me a couple of drakes so maybe we'll have some duck too.

Holy Cow- When pigs fly, lol!

It is weird that y'all aren't butchering pigs this year - but Stanley better be on his best behavior!

I love venison so I'm sure I'll like it too! Oh even if Stanley doesn't behave he's a lifer. DH is attached to the guy. I think he figured out what's going on, it was the charger messing up. It should be good now. He won't try now!

Sheep is delicious and wait until you had your own home raised lamb. Goodness, meat doesn't get much better than that!
