All of my seedlings have emerged except with the exception of our peppers. They were old seeds so won't be surprised if nothing happens. I have serious issues growing peppers here anyway.

My pepper seedlings (and my egg plant seedlings) were the last to sprout. It took over 3 weeks. I don't have much luck growing peppers here either. I don't get many and they are usually small. I think it is the cool Pocono nights. I may leave them to grow in the greenhouse this year and see if they do better.

That would make sense. NH nights aren't too warm either! Hope to have a greenhouse someday, so maybe I'll have pepper luck when I do!

Turkey eggs are on lockdown! 3 days until they're due to hatch. Went and got some starter for them, need to make sure the brooder will hold temps, and hope for the best!

We've always had great hatch rates with chickens and cruddy hatch rates with turkeys. We are about to confirm or reject my opinion, which is that it was our old tom that was the issue. New tom this year... So we'll see!

Ughhhh don't think the first turkey is going to make it out of the shell. I hate that.

So DH built a mini building to keep my hay feeder out of the rain today, yay! The mineral feeder is also attached to the hay feeder now which is awesome. He needs to close it in on 3 sides still. (my phone won't upload the picture, I tried)

I think we are going to butcher our other pigs early to mid summer, and have a pig roast with one of them. The bigger one is going to quickly get beyond the size we can manage at home so we won't wait too long. DH agrees that it'll be nice to have a break from having pigs, it'll be nice to save money of course, and we can steal their panels and build hoop coops! Lol some anyway, we will have pigs again but not for a bit (like next spring I hope).

What else... I don't think we're going to hatch any chickens this year, another thing I don't feel like dealing with. I'm going to focus my energy on the garden and getting the place looking nice for when/if we sell the house. DH is starting to come around, he always wants to have/do everything! But I'm managing to talk him down a little!

Some friends of ours used to have a pig roast every fall and sooo many people would show up. You were lucky to get a bite.
