on line it said at the retailers site that it can grind corn, (I took that to mean regular corn that you make corn meal out of...field corn I think?)

well in their little brochure they only mention how popcorn makes better meal...
does that mean it can' t grind regular corn?

it doesn't list corn on their list, only popcorn

any one know or try with success?

I tried to call and didn't get any answer there...:/

thanks

I've ground corn (not a nutri mill, sorry) from the feed sack (yes, gmo) and used it to clean the mill stones when I glazed them with kamut that apparently wasn't dry enough. I've made cornbread from the resulting cornmeal.

This year I will attempt to grow Indian corn and save it for processing into meal. We don't eat much cornbread, but love nachos so I hope to ultimately make my own "organic" chips.

Organic popcorn is readily available in bulk around here and somewhat reasonable (on sale occasionally for a buck a pound) compared to food items made with organic ingredients, so.....still a good option, IMO. I've grown my own popcorn from organic seed I got from my popcorn jar.

The instructions for my mill (Family Frain Mill) say that grinding field or flint corn is fine, but I should not grind popcorn as it is harder, and potentially damaging, and I will void my warranty by doing so. So, I would think, if yours says specifically that popcorn is OK, that field corn would also be OK.

great thanks

I just opened my bag of corn expecting to see huge kernals of corn like the field corn I had seen where I grew up, but these looked more the size of really large sweet corn kernals (much smaller than my grandpas field corn)
not what I was expecting to see, but cool

I need to find me a site that has a good visual of the differant kinds of grains

(my wheat didn't look like I expected it tt either it says "auburn" on the bag, got a good price that is why I bought it...but it was much smaller and rounded, and almost white...surprise, to me...hope it taste good...)
