There used to be a show on the home and garden channel about sub-terrranian dwellings. Since I stopped getting satellite 2 years ago, I'm not sure its even still showing.
Anyway, people basically lived underground. Their roofs were barely noticeable from the 'outside' ....only the skylights could be really seen...rolling hills is about the best way to describe it. If they were built into a hill, as most were, their light came from either the roof or lots of windows on the east/west. These folks usually were very 'green'....either off the grid completely or darn close. I think that would be very cool....they didn't waste energy heating/cooling as the temperature remained fairly constant.
I could go with any of it, lol.
