:lol: Ok. I guess I'm being paranoid that the guy might say he did the job but never do it. If I pay oodles and oodles I will have some recourse (in writing) if they did the job poorly or not at all.

Always ask for your old parts back. DH says it often keeps them on their toes because they will think you might be somewhat knowledgable. Also, before you leave, pop the hood and look for evidence they were under there - fingerprints or smudges in the dust/dirt. Not fool proof, but a start!

I would let the neighbor guy do it...but, like VB said...look for evidence, and ALWAYS ask for the old part. My dad always told me..." If ya cant do it yourself, and take it to a "friend" Sprinkle some powdered sugar around the part where he will be working. If he asks about it, tell him, you was eatin a donut when you was looking under the hood" :gig Yeah, my dad was a "foodie"
