Just found this forum and think it is great. I'm in Sullivan, Ohio which is in Ashland County. About halfway between Cleveland and Columbus.
We are working towards being more self sufficient. This year we got Nigerian Dwarf goats, chickens and planted a small garden. We are loving the eggs we get from the chickens. We won't have milk from the goats until next year. Our garden did ok but we made some mistakes and have learned from them so next year's garden should be much better.
I'm a Lorain County gal and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.
So, where is the best place to begin on the journey to self-sufficiency? We just bought a great house on a little over 3 acres. We have acquired 10 chickens, 22 ducks, 2 nigerian dwarf goats, 2 Finn Sheep, 2 pot bellies, a breeding trio of meat rabbits, and 3 angora rabbits. Oh we also have 5 children age 7 and under (that's where my user name "Sereniy Prayer" comes in!) and we homeschool.
I would really appreciate your help and guidance in getting started.
Welcome SerenityPrayer!!
It is always good to see another Buckeye join the group! Sounds to me like you already HAVE a pretty good start on becoming SS!!
