I can't believe how cold it is outside today. Our digital thermometer in the coop didn't register this morning but my phone said it was 4*. But channel 4 says it supposed to be in the 40's starting Sunday

I'm a wimp. 30 feels cold. I'm sure at 6 degrees you would not see me ever take off my snow suit.

I have been known to sleep in it.

My kids and I both wear snowsuits or carharts when it is this cold to go do chores. I have actually worn long underwear under my clothes to work when it gets to below 0. 30 or 40 would feel like a heat wave to me right now.

Tonight the temp is supposed to go below zero with wind chills even colder. Not looking forward to it. So far Gabrielle doesn't look like she will deliver but she has been discharging goo here and there. I know she is very close so I will probably put her in the kidding stall again tonight with the heat lamps on. Surprisingly my flannel lined jeans and carhartt jacket are working fine to keep me warm.

My 2 oldest kids have been kicked out of the kidding stall and now in a regular one. I did end up putting a heat lamp there and they have a dog crate with a pet warming pad (their own heat heats the pad and then heats them). They used the crate last night so I assume they will use it again tonight.

I'm just glad the sun is shining and no snow predicted for us through the weekend.

it is so stinkin' cold out there! we did errands in town and now i'm sick of being outside, sick of being inside, and no one is happy.

both goats want to just lay around. i gave them each a gulp of molasses as Debbie was acting like she is chilled. and the Good Neighbors are tromping over today to make sure everyone is alright.

SD, if i were 30* i wouldnt even have a hat on! in fact, when i took the dogs out the other morning i didnt even put on a jacket! hee hee hee

ohio folks - if we can just make it thru these next couple of days it looks like we'll be in the 40*'s!!!!!

in cute news, we needed a new halter for Kai - and had to get her the "Large." we tightened it all the way.. and it was TOO SMALL. ha! she's gonna be a big one whoooot!

so the neighbor's verdict is....

Debbie is probably gonna pop in the next couple of days and definitely within a week. probably not tomorrow but soon!

um... i thought i had at least 2 weeks!

so we are kinda thinking this weekend as the weather is gonna significantly change.....which, since there is now full moon, is usually when this happens around here.

so we bedded everyone down really deeply and left the heat lamp on. of course the next two days are gonna be the coldest (non windchill) days of the winter! yikes!!!

goats. i'm sure they do it on purpose. sheesh!
