My hubby found a piece of property across from his aunt and uncles farm, 96 acres and was really excited. I checked it out and it was $3 million dollars. I mean I could have all the goats I wanted, but $3 million????

So that got me to looking and I found a beautiful log cabin on 10 acres not very far from where we are that has a barn and some fencing. It would be perfect. I think we are going to put our house up for sale in the fall so we can move to more land. Right now we have 2 acres and I could only have a few small goat, but 10 - 20 acres, look out here I come. Goats, more chickens, turkeys, goats, geese, ducks, more goats and chickens.

Good luck with Debbie OFG, I hope she waits until at least Sunday when this cold snap is supposed to be over.

Good luck OFG!!! Now as soon as that 4H kid helps you once I expect you'll never need help again - placentas and all - is that right?

I can attest to that.....OFG is right in the splash zone on butchering day, slashing and cussin', while I'd far rather be up to my elbow in a contracting goat uterus.... :p

Guess I'm the middle man....I don't mind doing either! Course, never had the chance to elbow up a uterus yet. Our cow #3 had issues calving last year and when a farmer friend was "palpatating" up to his shoulders it took all I had to keep myself from pulling him outa there so I could dive right in!

Practice makes perfect I say!

Now...working on humans....no way. My mother's a nurse and she tried to get me into nursing. :sick Something about oosing stuff on human skin and blood drawing on things that can speak your language rub me the wrong way. On people, I can handle minor cuts, scrapes and pimples, but other than that - it's time for a visit to good ol mom.
