Yes we did get thunder. We had one rip-roaring long, drawn-out thunder boom. Then it was over. But it was enough to wake me up :/

So what kind of cheese are you making? Do you manage to make enough cheese for all year, or do you still buy some in the off season? We gobbled up what I made so fast,..... But teenage boys tend to eat a lot. Just in pizza alone.....

What time of year do you get your piglets? I'm looking forward to the pig stories already.

hey baby!

i just started a fresh cheese - the "chevre" that you get as "goat cheese" in the store. i made one a couple days ago but then we snarfed it down. i've missed it all winter! we used it on pizza and nachos - and then one day i heated it up and poured salsa over it! yum!!!

so i'm making another with the fiasco farm recipe. it cant be easier. i milked out all the ladies, strained it, added some rennet (i have the tablets) and not even 1/4tsp of culture and am letting it sit over nite. tomorrow i'll strain thru cheese cloth and ta-da! cheese
:)

we might get our pigs pretty soon - it will be early but we arent missing the Tamworths again.. no siree bob. its a great heritage breed thats known for.. you guessed it.. bacon!

i keep wanting to get stuff done outside but we've been having passing thunder and lightening.. so i'm cleaning the kitchen and starting on some laundry. yawns-ville.....

:)

Heh, I think having been a lactating mom x three times really helped me understand milking goats. I used to be able to shoot it across the room at Hubby and I don't mean the goats. :gig

He would DIE if he knew I told you guys.
