Slice up a cucumber, grab a handful of mint and add to a pitcher or glass of ice water. :D I was just about to fix some more to see if it would take this headache away. I just remembered the spearmint I planted out front so I'll try that today.

Doh! Feed store! That reminds me I have to go get feed today. Nearly out of everything here! :barnie

Good luck with your chicks. Sounds like this whole chicken hatching/raising is hard business.

That cucumber water sounds great. Happen to have a couple cucumbers in the fridge and chocolate mint in a raised flower bed.

We got rain last night and then some more rain throughout the night. At this point, it is just making it more muggy here. We are already hot and muggy here.

Is peppermint or spearmint better with the cukes? I don't have cukes yet, I planted them late, but they are making promises! Got lots of mint, of course!

WZ - ha! and yep - thats pretty much what i tell them
:)

so

my little buddy in the incubator graduated to a brooder box.... but i dont think it was warm enough. poor little guy - one is the loneliest number. so he's back with this pod-buddies.. i mean.. the eggs in the incubator. i hope he's gonna be ok. he was really lively this morning. sigh. if none of the other eggs hatch i'm gonna have to start looking for some pals for him.

i guess someone should warn ksalvagno that if a gal in barn boots and a dirty shirt roars up in a big red truck to the Meyer Hatchery and demands "two of the the cheapest chicks you got." well. thats me.
;-)

and

my victory over starbucks is now completely. you'll remember when they failed to meet my customer expectations back here:
http://www.sufficientself.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=272744

so i did write their HQ a mean letter...and... they sent me 2 coupons for free drinks. so today we were late for church b/c we went thru the REAL starbucks drive thru - not the stupid one in the grocery store - and i got me a gallon of frappucino. ha!

thats the word here. its a paltry 93* out there - barely worth complaining about. i'm hoping its gonna rain some more.

Yay! Yay! Yay for Free Starbucks! I had a feeling they would do that. It is like Disneyland there....the customer is always right philosophy.

I've been writing Subway and Nike (and boycotting both, not that they would have seen much of my money anyway) for using Michael Vick in their promotional campaigns. :smack I wrote and complained to both but didn't get any free sandwiches or shoes. The response from Subway had the nerve to tell me.....(pitbull-lovin' savingdogs), that he was chosen for "outstanding achievement". :somad You can BET they got a follow-up letter. :somad

But heh, at least you got something for your trouble! :clap
