Great job Bee.
We could, that's for sure! But....I don't think anyone would come to a yard sale that's 20 mi. from the nearest town and 1/4 mi. back from the hard road. One would have to have some pretty nice stuff for folks to drive that far and away.

We could haul it to Joel's house to sell it, but he's got so many projects going right now and the outside of his house has no room for displaying said items.

Would be nice if they had an ongoing yard sale site in town like they do farmer's markets, wherein country folk could come, pay a fee to set up a table or tarp, and sell off their excess junk...I mean...um...stuff. Not a flea market thing but just like a yard sale, where you could come once, sell all your stuff and then no more.

But, if you are like me, you'd sell stuff and then buy other people's stuff, so I'd be no better off at the end of the day.
I was (a little late now) going to suggest next to a gas station or car wash. Or maybe an abondoned store. You or whomever in the future that reads this could take a trailer and a for sale sign. Sell all morning then take the rest to Good Will after you get tired of sitting around. It'd take longer but pay more. $$$$$

Here, the minute anyone tries to do that, someone marches out and puts up a sign, disallowing it. I think a lot of towns here have ordinances prohibiting such practice, which, IMO is total hogwash. Too many small minded people intent on controlling the masses.

That's a great idea! Some folks will just pull over in a wide spot in the road, closer to town to sell veggies and bedding plants.

If I had more items worth selling, I might do that, but I just have 6 items. Personally, I'd like to take 5 of those items and advertise them for free or put them out at the curb at my son's house, as only one is really worth folks driving all the way out here for them. The others are seasonal and/or of low value.

Sometimes we just shove stuff to the end of the drive with a free sign. It's too much hassle and risk to sell stuff on Craigslist or FB out here. Neighbor down the highway stopped and picked up the rolling tool chest we needed gone. It had a crack in it that hubby had welded but it wasn't good for road trips anymore and he wanted a bigger one. Neighbor was really excited to get it for his shop.

The end of our driveway is a hill that pops up quite abruptly onto the hard road, so no level area or space at the end at which to display the free items. I know....we have weird place to live.

There are no words for how wonderful it feels to go up into that shed now and choose tools to work with, grab items I need or store other items I need. There seems to be a place for everything now, no matter how odd the shape of it. Feels like walking on air!

Just gotta remember to put it back when you are done with it. That is DH's biggest problem. I got yelled at yesterday because I put the drill back in wrong place ... it seems I put it back where I picked it up from and that is not where it belongs.

Yes!!! That's my son's and my mother~now that she has a harder time remembering things~biggest problem....putting things back where they found them! That drives me batty to find something just tossed down where they used it or shoved any ol' place when it has an actual place, where I'd be looking for it later and not being able to find it. :barnie It's a losing battle for me to run around behind these two, trying to restore order.
