Got it! Well, here is the big secret. I hurt myself. Hauling water buckets over the snow and ice. So badly that I thought I needed surgery. (Got some great drugs in the ER almost three weeks ago, and my first experience with narcotics was rather amusing...I didn't know one could ooze out of a car, and I didn't know my dh could move so fast! ) Yay, though, the visit to the surgeon yesterday revealed no serious damage, and with VERY STRICT rest :barnie I am getting better. I just couldn't sit at the computer....or anywhere, for that matter. I'd do some quick reading, mostly during the night, and not have the brain power to reply. But I am on the mend, finally! Still may need more doctor appointments....I was referred, but am currently resisting.

What oil are you using for the butter? I have almond meal, tried to melt coconut oil, didn't work! I want to experiment with black walnut oil...

BBH, you must be reading my mind, b/c I was thinking about this also. but my question is, what kind of almonds do I buy to soak? I went to the bulk food store, and bought the plainest looking almonds, as they didn't say they were raw or anything. they did however label the alomonds if they were salted, dry roasted, etc. I hpe I got the right kind. As if I dont have enough on my plate, my storebought jar of almond butter is almost empty, and I ovwed that I would make my own next time.

Free--that sound pretty serious, hope you recover quickly. :hugs

Aww Free! Glad you are on the mend. :hugs

So would my blender make a buttery enough almond butter? Or do I need to replace my not working anymore food processor?

Or I could put them in a bag and grab the hammer? :D
