Where I grew up in Iowa we bred Yorks. Big white pigs, big litters. I think I've heard that the Durocs (big black pigs) are better for meat production (i.e. feed to muscle conversion) and may be better in hotter climates but sometimes I get too much trivia in my head and some of the facts get messed up.
