theres thunder rumbling, but no rain or lightning but theres some small patchy storms to the north of me...the humidity is the only thing that REALY kicks my tuckus.

well its official, somethings gotta give.
money whent in yesterday, all bill money taken out, critter and human feed for the month bought and im flat broke...
the question is what?!
Im hoping to mak a little cahs off the eggs ivegot in the incubator...also hoping to sell some duck eggs for eating...o the ducks stay...
thinking the geese should probably go, there more lawn ornaments right now than anything else...as much as I love em.
and mabe one of the pigs...the smaller girl probably...since I cant find an old spot boar and im not finding anyone that can AI for me (hey WBF know of anyone around who does AI, don't care what breed this time around)
need to cut back on the rabbits too...

and get these kittens gone to new homes...thy are eating me out of house and home...heck I spent more on a months worth of food for them than I did for all 4 dogs combined...

I do have the material to finnish the quail cages, im hoping to gtthem started ASAP so I should atleast have a meat supply starting mid October for the dogs to help with that bill.
and im going to spend this month painting and finishing up the birdhouse gourds try and sell them in October/November to give me some Christmas money...
also hoping that the parotlets decide to breed again intime for Christmas babies... would need a clutch by late mid September to have them weaned intime though.

I the when the budget goes haywire...the kittens seem to be the major thing throwing it off, I normally spend $20 a month to feed the cats...but last month it cost me double that, they are ravenous beasts!!!

I need ideas for easy to raise money making critters, since the rabbits don't seem to be moving right now...

oh well, didn't have much in the ways of plans this month anyway.

so thought I had another week on my duck eggs....yupthey have other ideas, 1st started pipping today, hoping for a realy good hatch, set 48, had 4 clear and 1 go rotten so they got tossed...hoping the rest hatch, have 1/2 a doz likely sold already *fingers crossed*

another night in puppy land..i thin shes getting the idea, couple mins squeeking before sleep, then nothing till just before 6am...
chilly morning, enough that I had ot put my sweater on do do chores lol.

plan for the day:
ive got laundry to put away and I want to get the quail cages done today...
oh and dishes...realy should wash dishes.
Ive also got to run into town and pick up the goat food.

REALY thinking about doing a fodder system...setting itup in the little green house once I get the banties new house moved in and set up...
I need ways to cut the feed bill and if it would be cheaper to buy a couple hundered lbs of wheet and barley, for sproting and foddeing, Im all for it.
I could make a soda can solar heater for the greenhouse, its small so it shouldn't betoo hard ot keep wam enough even during the winter with a little passive heating system...
mabe even use a couple big black tupper totes filled with water on the lowest helves for some additional thermal mass on the overnights.

just got to figure out how much id have to grow to make it worth it...
how many lbs of grain id need to make enough for everyone that needs it..and compare that to how much feed costs.
also thinking of starting a mealworm farm...
got some homework to do on both, fodder system will probably not be until spring...but mealies I could probably set up fairly easily.

oh well, its 8am...think im going to get dressed and get the quail cages done before it gets hot

whent intothe garden to trim back the roses looked in the old rabbit hutch...look like someone has decided that's the perfect nesting spot...ive had the banties (4 hens an a roo) for 2 weeks...today I found a nest with about 8 eggs in it...wondering if I don't disturb it if one of them might decide to sit.
just kinda found it funny I look over and there they are and my first thought was "what the heck is...Oh..." lol.

Otherwise fairly lazy day, got the 8ft bank of quail cages floored up...just have the 4ft run to do, piced up got feed, though haven't unloaded it yet, and did my last batch of laundry to get to the "catch up stage" still need to put laundry away and REALY should dodishes but just not feeling the energy pulsing.
will get at least a small batch (limited drying space) done once ive put the critters to bed while dinner cooks...(not sure what yet) and then probably work on the laundry and the rest tomorrow.

dosed Tallie for Cocci today, its exactly 2 weeks since the albon and she had a bought of very upset tummy, since shes been on the raw for a week now I doubtits that. shes also very undersized for her age...shes only 5 1/2 lbs and should be closer to 10...but since she came up positive for cocci im putting it down to a slow start. dosed her today and wil repeat in 7 days...that should break the cycle giving her chance to get over it.

tomorrow will be doggy bath day, heart guard and flea/tick prevent is due, so ill do everyone on the same day. the ivermectin should act as an intestinal dewormer at the rate I use it too so if theres anything left in terms of round, hook, and whip, that should take care of it all.
as happy as I am with her personality and her overall, I think being me, im a little disappointed becaue the litter was obvisouy not raised the way I would have raised them...and im tryig not to evaluate as I know every breeder is different and this one did have both parents ofa scores, and pups had hips and hearts checked before she placed them ready ect...

but yeah...

not much else, got a busy weeed coming up, going to auction on Saturday with E, Tallie will come along for the ride (though her feet wont be touching the floor she does have to get used to going all inds of places) then sunday getting together with some frineds in Jackson...this weeks gone fairly fast.

I'm right there with you, Pink. I gotta cut the numbers around here too. It's not even the feed bill so much, (even though that sucks) it's my time and energy these days. I think it's just the dog days of summer that are givin' me so much grief.

Almost forgot - how's the hatch comin' along?
