Thanks everyone. I have had her since she was a puppy. When her time comes it will be hard. Lots of happy memories though.

Just got a new to me second hand manure prong. Will make mucking out the stalls and pens much easier. I regularly stop in to visit friends who have a farm nearby and while we were cleaning out some stalls I mentioned how I wish I had one to use at home as I have been using a pitchfork and the prong is much easier. When I stopped in today they said they had something for me. When we went into the barn they had a prong with a broken handle and asked if I'd mind putting a new handle in it for them which I did. When I was done they said now you have your own prong and gave it to me. It's great to have good friends like that.

The weather is miserable again today so it's another inside day. The dogs and cats are enjoying a lazy day.

Sunny but chilly here. Have the 3 granddaughters for the weekend. The 3 year old has sinus drainage and coughing so outside is not a great idea. Short trips to outside is ok, just long enough to do chores. Grandparents say grandkids make them tired, we see it as a weekend of rest. Looney Tunes cartoons, Disney and Nickelodeon until our brains are mush. LOL LOL

So we finally got a dry day but the wind is enough to take you off your feet lol.
Going to take advantage of the day though. Hoping to finish a temporary pen for our other tom to get him out of the chicken coop I feel bad for him he's in a pen inside their coop I can't let him out because he fights with our rooster. And cant put him in with the other turkeys because we all know what 2 Tom's will do. I repurposed an old dog house that was not being used anymore for a shelter and just need to fence in an area for an outside run for him then he will be able to get outside again and stretch his legs. I'll take a pic once he's out.
This will make 4 temporary coops in addition to our main coop. I'm hoping to cut enough wood this winter to mill lumber to build a proper chicken barn to replace all the coops.

It's an unknown at the moment. I checked the culvert yesterday and it is still open so the beaver hasn't repaired it. The trapper has had no luck so far. I'm hoping the beaver got fed up with me and moved on.

maybe laying up food for winter...

hope it will stay clear now.

knowing Murphy's Laws and other such and knowing my luck it will wait for the nastiest storm you can get and then plug it up with mud and ice and such so that you'll be out there dreaming of beaver burgers and dynomight.
